Change.org petition comments
"Legacy Salmon Creek, 15 years of service. I am signing this petition because Legacy Health nurses deserve to have a CNO they can respect and one who respects them in return."
"I believe that leaders have an obligation to set an example for their employees that doesn’t include a double standard."
"Legacy Mt Hood, 5 years of service. As professionals that have selflessly served our communities through incredible challenges, we deserve leadership that we can respect. Dr. Kelly has disregarded repeated pleas for support from nursing staff and continues to violate Legacy policies with her inappropriate social media posts. It’s time for her to be held accountable and move on."
"I was one of 26 RNs that left the CED in less than 2 years, due to terrible mgmt. Legacy did nothing and they are still the mgr. Legacy doesn't care about the patients or the staff"
"Legacy Mt. Hood 11 years of service. I signed this petition because I am outraged that this behavior has been allowed for so long (years in fact). I signed this petition because I feel strongly that our nursing leader should be professional and someone we can look up to. There have been multiple attempts to contact HR and the executive team without not so much as a reply. Many of them are done in her office with Legacy logos in view. Many of them contain offensive language such as ho, bitch, nigga etc. I signed this petition because it goes against Legacy’s social media policy and the contents are deeply offensive."
"This person does not represent Legacy values"
"Legacy should be so embarrassed. She is dancing in her hospital office to the N word? I would have been FIRED for even thinking of doing such a thing in my job. This is how Legacy shows leadership??? Appalling."
"Mt Hood, 4 years with Legacy. This is not the leadership that Legacy employees and patients deserve. I am offended by Dr. Kelly and intimidated by her display of crude and insensitive behavior. I don't feel safe working for a company that does not repremand and dismiss employees for such violations of conduct. Where will you draw the line? Theft? Sexual harassment? Do what's right for our people, our patients and our community, Legacy."
"Our current CNO should be supporting her nurses, not fearing them. We are on the same team and we want a strong leader who has our backs."
"Mt Hood, 3 years. I signed this petition because I believe that the willful disregard of policy and the racially insensitive content do not align with the stated values and mission of Legacy Health. That Legacy senior leadership has not addressed this and that it now must be presented to the public to bring about change is, frankly, embarrassing. I am ashamed to work for a healthcare system that, through their silence and inaction, have become complicit in in the narrative that Dr Kelly regularly posts. I am appalled by the content of these videos, but even more dismayed that Legacy Health would continue to employ someone who so blatantly and regularly disregards written policy and ethical standards. I am hopeful that by signing this petition, Legacy Health will be reminded of the values that previously guided the institution and promptly remove Dr Kelly from her position."
"Good Samaritan, 4 years. I'm also of color and do not find these videos using the N word, ok. Legacy needs to rethink who and the type of people they are hiring. If you are telling me this is who I should be coming to with serious issues or problems, I'd never take anything she had to say to heart. There's a level of respect that's earned, not given. She does not have my support whatsoever. I signed this petition because this behavior is what legacy reflects."
"Thank you for starting this petition. Legacy for 25 years. Dr Kelly is an embarrassment to the nurses, legacy and frankly to herself. Why is she getting away with this behavior.? This makes us all wonder why we have rules if they are not followed and enforced."
"As someone who has dedicated over 17 years to working as a nurse at Legacy, with the last 5.5 years spent in a leadership role as a nurse manager, I have been deeply invested in the organization’s mission and vision, as well as the influence our nurse leaders have on shaping our profession. However, since the departure of Carol Bradley and George Brown, the vision seems to have been lost, and the value of nursing at Legacy has diminished. My concerns have grown significantly due to Legacy’s apparent tolerance of Dr. Kecia Kelly’s behavior on TikTok. The role of a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) should embody qualities such as inspiring and serving others, effective interpersonal and communication skills, a dedication to seeking improvements, and the ability to prioritize professional ethics in decision-making. Unfortunately, Dr. Kelly falls short of exhibiting any of these essential characteristics.Allowing the top CNO to engage in behavior that would typically result in termination for any other employee un"
"I am appalled at this behavior from someone in nursing leadership. She should be leading by example. If these videos are being made on company time, where is the productivity? I have been with Legacy 19 years and I recently resigned my position. I find these videos inflammatory and extremely unprofessional. They should not be tolerated."
"I am appalled by her profound use of inappropriate and embarrassing social media posts. I also was witness to a VERY disturbing FaceTime exchange between her husband and an ex-employee which in itself should have been grounds for dismissal. Come on Legacy…be better than this."
"Legacy should be embarrassed. Other administrators from other health care systems mock us for letting this happen. We are losing respect among our peers and in our community. Ms. Kelly’s behavior is at best unprofessional, at worst shows extremely poor decision making skills. Either way, not someone who should be leading at Legacy."
"She’s unprofessional and I don’t want her to represent us in our facility."
"Embarrassing to the legacy system that is represented by this individual. If anyone else were to do this they would have been fired a long time ago"
"Have we sent this to local news stations?"
"I left after 15 plus years all because of upper management. It’s appalling behavior!"
"Rules apply to everyone."
"If Legacy fails to act after the petition, then it needs to go public to news anchors and investigative reporters. I believe the public outcry will force Legacy to act"
"I am embarrassed by this behavior"
"It’s so unprofessional!!!!"
"Legacy nurses can barely find time to use the restroom or take lunch, but our CNO has plenty of time to film multiple TikTok videos per day… cool. There is an unbelievable amount of work to be done to improve the system and this is how she chooses to spend her time at work. Wow."
"Policies are policies, no one is above them..... Agreed that Legacy leadership has lost their charm. Thank you to my fellow nurses for standing strong."
"There is a Randall manager that would have happily fired their staff at the desk for this behavior!!!! But, this only shows admin is untouchable."
"As a nurse for Legacy, I represent our organization and profession every day even when I am not on hospital property. The nursing profession has the reputation of the most trustworthy profession, and we need our leaders to follow the same responsibilities."
"I believe that the CNO of an organization should be one that nurses respects and looks up to as a "beacon of nursing". There is nothing about her leadership that is inspiring. Nursing staff amongst all hospitals comment on her crude and offensive online behavior. As a nurse in this organization for over 17 years, I feel I have NO leadership from our CNO during a time when our unit was birth center was brazenly, abruptly dismantled. We asked for help, we asked her for representation as the staff were being blamed by VP's to the media for the closure. We got nothing, no leadership. When people have sincerely spoke out that they feel offended by her posts, she responds by posting retaliative posts that mock those with general, heartfelt concerns. Any great leader would hear the concerns of those that she leads, instead she flaunts that fact that she feels untouchable. These constant social media posts from her "legacy office" seem to blatantly violate Legacy's Social Media policy. She is flagrantly"
"Nice try. Tell your wife to stop violating policy. Simple as that. The staff at Legacy is working too hard to Tik Tok from their workspace, she should be working just as hard if not harder.I checked on Teams - there is no Mike Jennings that's a manager."
"This is not about race this is about professionalism"
"Jeannie is one of the hardest-working nurses I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Your claim that she is lazy inaccurate. Legacy has lost multiple leaders in the last year due to multiple reasons, but a significant portion falls back to the deviation from Legacy’s mission and values."
"Middle school behavior. Shame on Legacy."
"I have been an employee at Legacy for 10 years. This is embarrassing…"
"She is a disgrace of a leader. It makes Legacy look like a joke that she is filming TikToks in her business office, holding Legacy mugs, and seeing the Legacy emblem in the videos. She holds that position merely to fill a quota and not based on merit. Her husband has threatened Legacy employees in the past on social media as well, threatened with bodily harm!!, because he didn't like what they had to say about Keisha. It's embarrassing to have her represent Legacy. Employees are called out for social media misdoings, why is LEADERSHIP not held to the same standards? Disgusting."
"Anyone who is in any sort of position of power (manager, chief, etc) should be held to the same, if not higher, standard than their employees. What she does on her own time is one thing. What she does while at work is another thing. To use the defense that these are short, fun, videos implies that anyone can do the same. If I were to post a video while at work I would be held responsible. Mangers, chiefs, etc should follow the same rules. I'm all for having fun, but there is appropriate social media behavior. The video itself may only be 20-30seconds. But it takes longer than that to make one. Same standards for all employees, unless policies/procedures don't matter."
"What’s good for the goose…."
"Gross"
"Nursing leaders need be role models and follow the same rules they demand their employees to follow. This is a very sad situation …"
"No, Kecia, it’s not “content for clout”. People just want you to abide by your company rules. How many nurses have been fired over policy violations? Rules apply to everyone, Kecia. Also… you look ridiculous, grow up."
"Kecia, if these videos are ‘content for clout’ why’d you delete them? Is it because you’re starting to think about how many staff nurses have been fired for violating policies like you have? Is it because you don’t want anyone to see the literal proof that c-suite staff are held to a different standard than us lowly staff nurses? Or is it because you don’t want your hospital seeing you dance around like a f***ing high schooler while at work. Put the phone down and put a pair of gloves on and help someone clean up a patient if you have so much time on your hands. Pathetic."
